Submarine accident kills two in India
March 1 , 2014
Two sailers in India were found dead after toxic smoke filled the submarine they were on and the accident resulted in the chief of India's navy to resign.
Adm. D.K. Joshi took "moral responsibility for the accidents and incidents which have taken place during the past few months," the defense ministry said.
The country's navy hasn't provided the exact number of incidents that have taken place in recent months and said there have only been a couple of serious ones involving submarines.
The Indian submarine feet relies heavily on Russian hardware and the nation's navy has been trying to modernize it.
