Strasbourg Christmas market shooting suspect shot dead

  • Chérif Chekatt, who was the suspected extremist gunman of the shooting incident, that occurred on Tuesday in Strasbourg, has been shot dead by security officers. He had opened fire on the crowd in the Christmas market, which killed three people and left several injured. Chekatt was 29, and was a radical Islamist, having numerous criminal convictions in France and Germany. Hundreds of policemen had been searching for him since the day of the attack. His parents and his two brothers have also been arrested in connection to the attack.
