Stampede in Indian temple kills 10
August 25 , 2014
A stampede at a temple during a Hindu festival in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has killed at least 10 people, in the early hours of Monday, August 25, while scores are left wounded.
The stampede occurred in the Kamtanath Pahad temple in the state’s Satna district, where thousands of worshipers had gathered for the festival of Somvati Amavasya.
Some reports indicated that a few people might have fallen to the ground, which triggered panic and the ensuing stampede.
In October 2013 over 90 pilgrims had died in a stampede in Madhya Pradesh.
