Spain: Catalonia's leaders vow to press ahead with independence bid
November 12 , 2015
Catalonia’s pro-independence leaders have vowed to carry on with their plans to break away from Spain though the Constitutional Court ruled that the secession process be suspended.
Neus Munte, the Catalan vice-president, said it was the regional government’s political will to press ahead with plans for independence in 18 months.
After the Spanish government appealed to the Constitutional Court to intervene in the matter, the court while announcing its order said a failure to comply with it may amount to “disobedience”.
