South Sudan Declares Famine

As per reports, South Sudan has declared famine in some of its parts. According to the United Nations as well government reports, around 100,000 people face starvation everyday and more than a million others are on the verge of facing famine.
Warnings of famine in Somalia and north-eastern Nigeria were there but this is the first famine declared in South Sudan.
Last week, a warning was issued by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) where it was mentioned that over 20 million people may suffer from starvation in famines in the coming six months.
