South Korea's Former and Impeached President's Trial Begins

  • As per reports, at her trial for corruption South Korea's former President Park Geun-hye has pleaded not guilty. She arrived at the court in Seoul on Tuesday, handcuffed in a prison van.

    Park will now be facing months of trying to convince the judges that no pressure from her side came to the companies into giving millions of dollars to her friend, Choi Soon-sil, who sat alongside her at the opening of the trial.

    In connection with the scandal, many people have been investigated or arrested.

    Sources revealed that Park is facing 18 charges, with the charge sheet that runs to about 120,000 pages.
