South Korea Reports 19 New Cases, Bringing the Country's Total to 11,225

Over 19 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified by health authorities in South Korea on Tuesday, taking the total count to 11,225. Amongst which, three cases are believed to be imported while the 16 are thought to be locally transmitted. As per a report compiled by the CNN, South Korea's total number of patients recovered are 10,275, while over 681 patients are being treated and 269 are the total fatalities. It is also reported that most of the cases in the country are from the densely populated Seoul metropolitan area where officials have been actively tracing new transmissions linked to nightclubs and other entertainment venues. The newly reported cases caused concern for the authorities as the country is proceeding with a phased reopening of schools.
