Lee Wan-koo, the Prime Minister of South Korea, has offered to resign following bribery allegations.
Park Geun-hye, the South Korean President, has said that she is in favor of a “thorough investigation” into the corruption scandal.
Lee Wan-koo has denied accepting $27,700 in illegal election campaign funds.
The scandal became a national issue after Sung Wan-jong, a businessman, reportedly committed suicide. A note found in his pocket listed names of people including Lee Wan-koo, who were allegedly bribed.
