South Korea President Jailed for 24 Years

Former South Korea President Park Geun-hye has been found guilty by the country's court on charges of bribery, coercion, and power. She has been sentenced to a 24 year term in prison. The judge who ordered the harsh sentence stated that the punishment was a way to send a firm message to all the future leaders of the country. In addition to the sentence, she is also slapped with a fine of $17 million. Parker has been found guilty of a total of 16 out of 18 charges she faced. However, supporters of Park gathered outside the Seoul Central District Court to demand her release.
