Some ferry crew members were heroes
April 23 , 2014
Crew members of the sunken South Korean ferry are being called murderers. However, some of them may have actually been heroes. Survivors said four of them gave up their life jackets for passengers when there was a shortage and others made sure that people would get off the ship through windows.
Reports suggest that one crew member even refused to leave before all students were safe; she was later found dead.
The number of victims is rising and families have agreed that the rescue operation would turn into a salvage effort after another two days. The AP notes that relatives know it's not likely for any more passengers to be rescued. "It's been too long already. The bodies must be decayed."
