Solar eclipse casts its shadow across northern Europe

Solar eclipse has plunged Europe in darkness and millions of people in UK and northern Europe are witnessing solar eclipse. Though the experts have warned people not to look directly at the eclipse as it can be harmful, people are finding ways to do so. According to media reports, the eclipse began at 07:41 GMT. At 09:13, the deepest part of the moon’s shadow touched the earth’s surface and in UK the darkness peaked at around 09:35. A large crowd gathered at the Royal Observatory at Greenwich to watch the spectacular event. According to experts, UK will not see an eclipse of such magnitude till 2026.
