Social services took the baby after forcing C-Section on woman
December 2 , 2013
A pregnant Italian woman was in the UK for business when she had a panic attack and social services workers got a court order and forcefully did a C-section on the woman and took her baby. It's been fifteen months since the incident and the child is still with social service workers.
The woman's lawyers call the case "unprecedented." The woman was in town for an airline training course in July 2012 when she suffered a panic attack. Her mother informed the police that she was a bipolar disorder patient and was currently off her medication.
The authorities took her to a psychiatric facility, where she underwent the C-section after five weeks. The case is ongoing and the mother said she has fully recovered.
