Sleeping children killed in Gaza strike: 'world stands disgraced' says UN official
July 31 , 2014
Officials from the United Nations have said the killing of sleeping children in an Israeli attack on a Gaza school was a serious infringement of international law.
At least 15 people, most of them women and children, were killed in the strike on the school in Jabaliya refugee camp.
UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon described the attack as “outrageous and unjustifiable” and urged for accountability and justice. Expressing anguish at the children’s death, Pierre Krähenbühl, the senior UN official in charge of Palestinian refugees, said “the world stands disgraced.”
