Six arrested in Kenya over diplomat's murder
July 30 , 2012
Six people have been arrested in Kenya in connection with the murder of Venezuela's acting ambassador.
Olga Fonseca was found strangled to death at her official residence in the capital Nairobi on Friday.
Kenyan officials revealed some staff at the residency had complained about being fired by Fonseca after they refused to withdraw allegations about her predecessor, Gerardo da Silva.
Da Silva left Nairobi two months ago after serving as ambassador for six years.
The Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced it would look into the claims against da Silva.
Fonseca had started her new role earlier this month.
Chief of Nairobi police Anthony Kibuchi said he expected to charge some of the suspects over the course of the week.
