April 22 , 2017
A lone gunman entered the regional office of the Russian Security agency, FSB, in Khabarovsk and opened fire, killing one person and wounding another. The city is located in Far East Russia, close to the Russia-China border.
According to a statement released by FSB, a lone gunman, believed to be a nationalist, entered the reception area of FSB’s local office and opened random fire. Both, the dead and wounded, were said to be nationals of former soviet states. The identity of the shooter is yet to be made public.
Islamic State has been quick to claim credit but Russian officials were skeptical of the claim.
