Shocking image shows brutality of Syrian conflict

  • A very disturbing photo reportedly showing a boy holding the severed head of a Syrian soldier has been put on Twitter by the boy’s father.

Khaled Sharrouf is believed to have fled from Australia to Syria in 2013 along with his family to join the Sunni militant group Isis. Along with the shocking image which shows the boy, who is said to be Sharrouf’s son, the words “Thats my boy!” are posted.

Australia’s defense minister David Johnston said he was “revolted” by the photo.
