Shinzo Abe calls for talks with Vladimir Putin

In a bid to negotiate a peace treaty, Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, has called for talks with Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, media reports stated. Due to a dispute over four islands, the two countries never signed a treaty after the WW2 ended. The Japanese Prime Minister said that the leaders of the two countries recognized that the lack of such a document for 70 years was abnormal.
