Sexual exploitation by UN peacekeepers 'significantly under-reported'
June 10 , 2015
UN peacekeepers in Haiti are engaged in “transactional sex” with over 225 local women, a new report has said.
The report indicates that sexual exploitation during such missions is "significantly" under-reported.
The draft report, which examines the way UN peacekeeping deals with issues of sexual exploitation and abuse, was accessed by a news agency.
According to the report, one in every three instances of alleged sexual abuse involves minors under the age of 18.
