Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic 'shocked' by Hungary's border fencing plan

  • Serbian prime minister Aleksandar Vucic says he is “surprised and shocked” by neighboring Hungary’s plan to build a wall at the border to prevent migrants from crossing over.

The 13-feet-high fence was not a solution to the influx of migrants, he said.

Hungary said that the fence would run along the 109-mile Hungarian-Serbian border. Peter Szijjarto, Hungary’s foreign minister, said that his country could not wait till the EU finds a solution to the migrant crisis.

Vucic said that Serbia cannot be responsible for the migrant crisis as it was simply a “transit country.”
