Seoul pleads with Vladimir Putin to help tame North Korea

  • Moon Jae-In, South Korean President, has told the Russian leader Vladimir Putin that the present situation in the Korean Peninsula risks becoming “uncontrollable”. According to media reports, the South Korean leader said that he and Putin share a view that “North Korea has gone the wrong way with its nuclear and missile program.” Moon Jae-in has asked for assistance from the Russian leader to help tame North Korea. As per the press secretary of Moon Jae-In, during their meeting, South Korean leader said it was inevitable that Pyongyang's oil supply would be cut and asked his Russian counterpart to cooperate. The Russian leader condemned Pyongyang's nuclear weapon's program and called it a “crude violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions.”
