Senior Iranian general, Hezbollah fighters killed in Israeli attack
January 20 , 2015
A senior Iranian general died in an Israeli attack on Sunday, January 18, in Syria that also killed six members of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, according to media reports.
Confirming the death of Mohammad Ali Allahdadi, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said in a statement on Monday that the general and Hezbollah fighters were killed in Syria’s Quneitra region on Sunday when they “were attacked by a military helicopter of the Zionist regime.”
It's an unusual instance of Israel, the bitter adversary of the Islamic republic and firm antagonist of its nuclear undertakings, to kill a senior military official.
