Second Independence Referendum Voted at Scottish Parliament
March 29 , 2017
As per reports, Nicola Sturgeon received authority to start negotiations on breakaway vote as MSPs pass the motion at Scottish parliament.
Sturgeon’s proposal got backing from Scottish Greens and won by a 10 vote majority setting the stage to request a fresh independence vote coinciding with Britain’s exit from the EU in 2019.
The parliament was split up clearly in two by the vote between pro and anti-independence parties. David Mundell, the Scottish Secretary however informed BBC that the UK government would not be entering any negotiations till the Brexit process is completed.
