Scottish referendum: David Cameron makes emotional plea against separation
September 16 , 2014
British Prime Minister David Cameron in an emotional plea said that there would be stark costs of Scotland’s “painful divorce” from the UK if Scottish voters chose ‘yes’ in Thursday’s independence referendum, reports say.
A ‘yes’ vote would be the end of the UK “for good, for ever”, he said, urging Scottish voters to not confuse the temporary and the permanent as his government would not “be here forever.”
Meanwhile, a poll has shown that around two-thirds of England and Wales voters are opposed to the idea of a shared currency with an independent Scotland.
