Saudi-Lebanon Conflict reached Tipping Point with Detainment of Lebanese PM Hariri

  • Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, in a televised statement, said that Saudi Arabia has detained Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri. He went on to say that by detaining Hariri, Saudi Arabia has declared war on Lebanon. Reports also say that Lebanese officials have demanded Saudi Arabia to return their detained Prime Minister. While Iran backed Hezbollah called Hariri’s resignation as “forced”, Riyadh stated that the Lebanese PM is a free man and submitted his resignation because in his government Hezbollah has become more dominant. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has said that Lebanon shouldn’t be allowed to become a place for proxy wars and went on to say that Hariri must be allowed to go back to his country.
