Russian jet downing: Moscow announces sanctions against Turkey
November 29 , 2015
Moscow has announced economic sanctions against Turkey following the shooting down of a Russian fighter plane on the Syrian border.
Imports from Turkey, work of Turkish firms in Russia and Turkey’s nationals working for Russian firms are covered in a decree signed by Russian president Vladimir Putin. It also calls for ending charter flights between Russia and Turkey.
The move comes after Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan refused to apologize to Russia for the shooting down of the plane by the Turkish military.
