Russian Foreign Minister Calls US 2016 Presidential Election Meddling Charges Blather

  • Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov, during a major security conference in Germany, has dismissed the US 2016 Presidential election meddling charges levelled by FBI special counsel Robert Mueller against 13 Russians. Lavrov called the charges “just blather” and sought to “see the facts”. He went on to refer the questions put forward by the US Vice President Mike Pence regarding the concerned FBI investigation. US President Donald Trump has also said that there is “no collusion” with Russia and his 2016 Presidential campaign. He went on to quote Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s comment that “no American had knowingly participated in the Russians' activities”. However, reports say comments of Rosenstein refer to the indictment only.
