Russia would respond 'asymmetrically' to new sanctions: Medvedev

  • Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s prime minister, has warned of a tough response to any fresh sanctions imposed by the west, and slammed the “temptation” by the US and EU “to use force in international relations.”

Speaking to a Russian paper, Medvedev said in case further sanctions linked to the energy or financial sector were slapped on Russia, Moscow would “have to respond asymmetrically.”

Russia had earlier banned food imports from the US and EU in response to sanctions imposed on it by western countries.
