Russia should not host next World Cup, says Nick Clegg
July 27 , 2014
Nick Clegg, the British deputy prime minister, has said Russia should not be allowed to host the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
He said it was “unthinkable” under the present circumstances that the next football world cup should be held in the country that is arming rebels blamed for shooting down the Malaysia Airlines flight.
However, Fifa, football’s world governing body, has said that holding the tournament in Russia would be “a force for good”.
