Russia interfering in domestic affairs in eastern neighborhood: Merkel
December 8 , 2014
German chancellor Angela Merkel has said Russia is interfering in the domestic affairs of some nations that seek closer ties with the EU.
In an interview to German newspaper Die Welt, she said Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine had taken “sovereign decisions to sign an association agreement” with the European Union, and Russia was “creating problems” for all the three countries.
Merkel also mentioned “frozen” conflicts in regions like Transdniestria and South Ossetia.
