Russia escalates air attacks against Islamic State in Syria
November 21 , 2015
Russia has stepped up its air attacks against Islamic State in Syria, but President Vladimir Putin said the current level of strikes was not sufficient to defeat the militant group, which has claimed responsibility for downing a Russian passenger plane in Egypt.
Russia says it fired the long-range cruise missiles against Islamic State targets for a fourth day. The missiles were launched from Russian warships in the Caspian Sea and some reportedly hit Islamic State targets at Deir al-Zour.
