'Rocket attack kills 19 Ukrainian troops'

  • At least 19 Ukrainian troops were killed when rebels fired rockets at a military camp in east Ukraine, reports quoting the military have said.

According to the military, the attack by pro-Russian fighters occurred near Zelenopolsk in Luhansk region.

Ukraine’s president Petro Poroshenko said “militants” would pay for such attacks. “Not a single terrorist will avoid responsibility,” he said. “Each of them will be punished.”

Meanwhile, 11 more people face European Union sanctions over the crisis in Ukraine, bringing the total number of such targeted people to 72.
