Robert Mugabe's wife gets top party post in Zimbabwe
December 7 , 2014
Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe's president, was re-appointed leader of the ruling party, and his wife was given a top party post.
Grace Mugabe's appointment as head of the women’s wing of Zanu-PF could make her a future successor to her husband, according to political analysts.
Mugabe, who has led the country since 1980, thanked supporters for again choosing him as the Zanu-PF leader.
Grace's promotion also means the further sidelining of vice-president Joyce Mujuru, who was earlier seen as a possible successor to Mugabe.
