Rob Ford is stripped off some of his powers

The city council of Toronto voted to strip Rob Ford of some of his powers after he knocked over a female councilor.
The council doesn't have the authority to remove Ford from office but it voted after a heated debate and decided to cut his office budget by 60 percent. Ford no longer chairs the executive committee and doesn't have any legislative power. However, he still has the right to represent the city at official functions.
"Obviously I cannot do the job with eight people in the office with a quarter of the former mayor's budget," Ford said.
The council is doing everything in its power after recent revelations that the mayor admitted to smoking crack cocaine and still continued to behave erratically.
