Risin trend in sexual abuse cases against UN peacekeepers

According to a new U.N. report, 69 allegations of sexual abuse were made against the peacekeepers in the U.N missions around the world last year. The report released by Ban Ki- Moon, U.N. Secretary General, shows a worrisome trend in the number of sexual assault cases. The report announces establishing of on-site court martial proceedings for all sorts of sexual crimes. In a move to make the abusers accountable their countries of origin have been declared for the first time. A draft resolution has been passed by the U.S. to add support to the U.N’s strong response against such crimes.
