Rights activist killed in Pakistan

  • Rights Activist Khurram Zaki was killed in an attack by four armed assailants while he was having dinner at a restaurant in Karachi. The gunman arrived on two motorcycles and started shooting at the roadside restaurant while he was having dinner. Khurram was killed on the spot and his friend was wounded as a bystander. Activist Zaki is known for his work on a campaign against Abdul Aziz who is a cleric of the Red Mosque in Islamabad. He, along with several others, had filed a court case against Abdul Aziz for inciting violence against Shiite minority of the country.
