Rich countries urged to resettle Syrian refugees

  • Aid agencies and rights groups have called upon rich nations to resettle Syrian refugees as the immediate neighbors of Syria are unable to cope with the sheer number of displaced people.

By the end of next year, at least 5% of the estimated 3.6 million Syrian refugees who have fled from the civil war should be settled by other countries, a group of 36 organizations, including Amnesty International and Oxfam, have said.
