Quake in south-west China kills 400

Around 400 people have died and at least 2000 injured in China after an earthquake hit the country’s south-west region. TV footage showed people running to the streets after the earth shook.
The 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck a mountainous area which is 225 miles north-east of Yunnan province’s capital Kunming, Chinese media reports said.
Prime Minister Li Keqiang visited the area as rescue efforts to search for survivors continued. The death toll could rise after rescuers reach some of the more remote areas hit by the quake.
