Putin to Swear in as President for the Fourth Time

  • Vladimir Putin is all set to assume the presidency of Russia after winning the polls held in March. This would mark the fourth term of his presidency in the country. He has been in power for as many as 18 years whether as a prime minister or president. There have been, however, riots in Moscow and other cities to oppose his presidency. Opponents have even compared his governance to that of an emperor or a tsar. There have also been fears of unrest as he takes the post on Monday. The inauguration ceremony in Moscow would too be a low key affair.
