Pussy riot gets roughed up in Russia

  • Things became a little ugly in Sochi when Pussy Riot began performing on an anti-Putin protest song.

The group comprised of six members was descended just when they started to perform and a video shows officers roughly pulling masks off members and one even used pepper spray.

Nobody got arrested and Russian police arrived in a few minutes. "Today they are socially conservative and ardent supporters of the Russian Orthodox Church," the Washington Post writes on the Cossacks. "Recently they have been revived as a sort of volunteer citizen patrol, and about 800 of them have supplemented the police providing security for the Winter Games."
