Protests in US over killing of unarmed blacks
December 14 , 2014
A protest march in Washington DC against the killing of unarmed black people saw the participation of thousands of people.
The protesters in the US capital included family members of Michael Brown, the black teenager who was shot and killed by the police in Ferguson, Missouri. A grand jury decided against bringing charges against the white police officer.
There was a similar demonstration in New York.
Michael Brown’s mother Lesley McSpadden told the protesters that if seeing the peaceful crowds gathered here does not push authorities to make a change “then I don't know what we got to do.”
