Pro-Russia rebels have withdrawn weapons: Ukrainian President
March 10 , 2015
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has confirmed that rebels have pulled back a significant quantity of heavy arms from the front line in the country’s east.
Poroshenko said that the government forces had also withdrawn the “lion's share” of their heavy artillery and rocket systems.
The pulling back of heavy weapons is in accordance with the Minsk ceasefire agreement reached in February.
An estimated 6,000 people are believed to have died in the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
