President Trump Wins Political Battle as Brett Kavanaugh Sworn in as US Supreme Court Justice

  • The US President Donald Trump has secured a big win just before the November mid-term elections as Senate voted to confirm his nominee Brett Kavanaugh for the position of US Supreme Court justice. He won the Senate vote by a slim margin to become the 114th US Supreme Court justice. On Saturday evening, the 53-year old Brett Kavanaugh was sworn in a private ceremony at the Supreme Court. His constitutional oath taking was administered by Chief Justice John Roberts. Kavanaugh’s judicial oath taking was administered by the retired justice Anthony Kennedy (whom the Donald Trump nominee is replacing). The US President Donald Trump has reportedly congratulated Brett Kavanaugh and went on to say that he’ll “sign his Commission of Appointment, and he will be officially sworn in”.
