President Trump Calls Success in Restrained Syria Strike, Damascus Condemns the Attack

  • The U.S. President Donald Trump proclaimed “Mission accomplished” on Twitter, calling restrained Syrian strike a success. At the Pentagon, U.S. Lieutenant General Kenneth McKenzie said the US believes they have hit “heart of the Syrian chemicals weapon program” by hitting Barzeh. Reports say 105 missiles were launched overnight by the USA, France and Britain in retaliation for a suspected chemical attack (which the western powers say is a handiwork of Assad government) in Syria a week back. The western power made it clear that the attack was not aimed at toppling Assad government but target at the chemical weapons capabilities in Syria. Syrian government and its allies condemned the air strike by Western powers and called it an illegal act of aggression.
