  • President Obama declares Louisiana Disaster Area Unprecedented Flood Swamps the State

Over 20,000 people were rescued by the soldiers and emergency teams after torrential rain caused havoc in the US state of Louisiana. Despite best efforts by the emergency team, five people are reported to have died and many more still stuck in their homes. Though the rain has subsided, danger still looms large. US President Barack Obama has declared Louisiana a disaster area, thereby clearing way for sending federal aid to the flood-hit state.
