Pope Francis and Benjamin Netanyahu disagree on Jesus' language
June 2 , 2014
Pope Francis met Israel's prime minister in Jerusalem and corrected him when he said Jesus spoke Hebrew. "He spoke Aramaic, but he knew Hebrew," he said.
The BBC is now looking into this topic to find out what languages he might have known.
Dr. Sebastian Brock of Oxford mentioned that Jesus would have communicated in Aramaic on a daily basis, but Hebrew was used in scholarly pursuits for the most part. Reports suggest that he could have also spoken Greek.
