Police to find rapist by testing 527 DNAs
April 15 , 2014
Male staff and students were asked to provide their DNA samples since a high school in France is searching for an assailant who sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl.
The prosecutor's office said genetic material was removed from the girl's clothing but it didn't have any matches in the national DNA database.
"This happened during the school day in a confined space," the school's director said. "The decision to take such a large sample was made because it was the only way to advance the investigation."
Reports suggest that all 527 results could come out to be negative and send the investigation back to square one. The total cost to have them analyzed is $6,900.
