Police chase armed jewel robbers across Paris
November 26 , 2014
Two armed jewel robbers were chased by the Paris police across the city before they finally surrendered, according to media reports.
The two made their escape from the Cartier jewelry shop on a motorcycle, with the police chasing them and amid an exchange of fire. The robbers then took a man hostage at another shop.
Paris is no stranger to major robberies in recent years. Last year, precious stones worth $138 million were stolen from the Cannes Carlton Hotel; and watches and gems worth two million euros were stolen in another robbery.
