Pilot tricks Ukraine hijacker

  • When a Ukraine passenger on a Turkish plane announced that he'd want the plane to land in Sochi and possessed a bomb, the pilot tricked him by pretending to oblige but landed the aircraft in Istanbul instead.

The hijacker let all passengers leave after four hours and was later captured. Reports suggest that the man wanted to go to Sochi since Ukrainian president was meeting with Vladimir Putin during the Games. Authorities believe he isn't linked to any terror groups and an official mentioned that he may be on a drug in order to stay alert.

The hijacker didn't have any bomb.
