PIA Flight Crashes at Karachi Before Landing, About 100 People Killed

  • A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft A320 Airbus on its way from Lahore to Karachi on Friday crashed in the Model colony area near Jinnah international airport Karachi. The plane crashed when it was approaching for landing. The aircraft was carrying more than 90 passengers and eight crew members. Ambulances and rescue operations teams reached at the crash site to help the victims of the crash. According to eyewitness the plane caught fire in the air while trying to land at the airport. Pakistan has partially started flight services amid COVID-19. This is the second incident of a plane crash in Pakistan in less than four years. In 2016, an ATR-42 aircraft carrying 48 passengers crashed on the way to Islamabad from Chitral. The airline chairman resigned after the crash on the moral ground.
