Petrobras corruption scandal: Two construction firm bosses arrested in Brazil
June 20 , 2015
Two top heads of construction companies have been arrested in Brazil amid a continuing probe into the Petrobras corruption scandal.
The arrests of Marcelo Odebrecht, head of the Odebrecht conglomerate, and Otavio Azevedo, construction firm Andrade Gutierrez’s boss, are part of an investigation into high-level corruption at Petrobras, the state-owned oil company.
The scandal has hit the image of Brazil's ruling Workers' Party as senior politicians have been accused of taking bribes. However, President Dilma Rousseff has herself been cleared of any wrongdoing.
